Dawg Tired - Canine Sport

Our first session of learn n play with Kim was just amazing. She helped me feel so at ease and was so supportive. The office is so helpful and communicative, especially for a stressed out fur mom like me. Their help and support is so appreciated. We will definitely continue with their sport and learn n play!

Working out has never been more fun!

A well-balanced dog is stimulated both mentally and physically. Even experiencing new activities with your dog can help strengthen your bond. Our Sports classes are designed to provide physical challenges for your dog, as well as providing their humans with a physical work-out so that you both achieve the benefits of exercise at the end of the day.

We have developed a fun, challenging and rewarding program to enhance and strengthen the relationship between you and your dog.

  • Provides great exercise for the handler and dog. It will help strengthen your dog’s muscles, improve coordination and keep fit.
  • Running through a course that involves passing over and through a variety of obstacles will challenge your dog’s mind and body, while fulfilling your dog’s natural instincts.
  • Teaches the dog to focus and be attentive to their handler, by helping to strengthen the bond and trust between human and dog.
  • Increases confidence for the dog and also how the human interacts with their dog while improving their social skills.
  • Helps to reinforce basic commands such as “wait”, “sit”, “watch” etc.
  • Improves dog’s behavior outside the agility course as well as the dog/human communication.

Classes are 1 hour, once a week for 6 weeks with 8 dogs per class. All breeds and sizes welcome.

What to Expect:

We have 9 different obstacles for your dog to learn about and play on. They are Jumps, Tunnel, Pause Table, Chute, A-Frame, Teeter Totter, Tire Jump, Weave Poles and Bridge.

Introduction Class – The dogs will be introduced to all the obstacles. They will learn the foundation of the program, what the commands for each obstacle are and what is expected from the dog and handler to succeed. The handler and dog will gain the skills and confidence to be able to move on to the more challenging intermediate class.

Intermediate Class – We will build on the foundation that was set in the introductory class. The handler and dog will work on distance skills (the dog’s ability to be off leash with confidence) and accomplishing more complicated and challenging course work.

Advanced Class – Suitable for dogs that are able to complete an agility course while being off leash. The dogs understand what each obstacle is and what is expected. They can follow the handlers verbal and visual cues efficiently. This class will continue to challenge both the handler and the dog.

We pride ourselves on the ability to make our classes fun, supportive and have a relaxed environment. We love cheering everyone on and celebrating with you when your dog is able to reach a goal. We are always willing to answer any questions that you may have at any time.

What to bring:

Clean, proper footwear for a gym, Your dog’s favourite treat, and Water for you, we will provide water for your dog.
